actually, whey is from milk. not eggs. eggs are such good proteins because they are complete proteins. they have all of the essential amino acids that we need. (essential amino acids are AA's that the human body cannot produce on its own, for those who didn't know.)

btw... whey appearantly is also a complete protein source as well... scroll down the link, there's a link to a protein comparison chart. looks like the only better source is egg.
