USB 2.0 ports on ASUS A7V333 - why dont they work?
I have had an asus A7V333 for a year now. Actually I had two, one was RMA'd for a unrelated problem, but the USB 2.0 ports have never recognized anything I put in them on both boards. The problem is I have no USB 2.0 devices, but I understand they are backwards compatible and should recognize USB 1.1 devices.
Anyway, I haven't put too much effort in fixing it (because ASUS support is shitty) untill now, because my 1.1 ports and hub are full, and I want to use the other 4 ports I have that have never worked.
Someone on another forum said they had the same problem and had to contact ASUS and have some drivers sent to him to fix it. I called ASUS support last night, and someone is supposed to call me back. Hasn't happened yet. The guy who took down my info and got my number so they could call back asked if I had the 2.0 drivers from microsoft, to which I said yes. A little research told me that 2.0 drivers are included in XP SP1, which is what i have.
Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this and can offer any help or advice with the problem or dealing with ASUS suppport.
