The Solder/plug in is the main difference.
Some play backup DVD's, others play inport games & some play those blue disks (non dvd games I think). I figure it would be better to get one that does everything.
Let us know what you go for coz Im looking at an all silver Ps2 right now & want to get it modded for.. erm... backups too! yes, thats it, backups.
