I put a couple of coats of indoor/outdoor urethane on it to seal it. He's a bit blind and has a tendency to nudge the bowl when he finds it, so I wanted to make it resistant to spills. I tend to steer away from coloring the wood...I like the natural finishes. The urethane I picked left a bit of an amber tint though, and I'm not sure that I like it...
