set the homepage manually

go to start->run->regedit

now navigate to

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main

and change the value of start page to whatever u want.

Dont do this if you are not comfortable with editing the registry. One wrong deletion or modification in the registry may screw up your pc for ever.
