Sorry, that's not how I meant that - I meant in terms of deciding what to do with your life while you're in the military. If you enlist for a certain amount of time, you
belong to the military for that time, and are seriously limited in what you do. It's not just a job that you leave after 8 hours every day and can quit if you don't like it, or go on vacation whenever. That's what I meant in terms of not being your own person. Poorly phrased.
