Beatles? What are these "Beatles"?
Are you talking about this Beatle?
Okay, okay, in all honesty I don't give a hoot about the Beatles, or for most other "classic" bands for that matter. Black Sabbath is okay. Ozzy Osbourne sucked nuts in his time, and still sucks nuts. The Sex Pistols suck. Tons of bands suck. Most "punk" sucks, and I'm talking about "real" punk, not Avril Lavigne/Blink 182 "punk". In fact, most stuff played with an electric guitar somewhere in there sucks. Jazz, blues, and country all rank as "crap" in my list. Rap sucks.
What do I like? I hate to say it, but I like Japanese pop. I like classical music, a lot. Give me Bach, give me Paganini, give me Andres Segovia, give me Listz, give me Mendelsson, Beethoven, Mozart, or any other classic composer, and I shall listen with delight. I like Yngwie Malmsteen's instrumental songs. I like some rock songs. I like anime outro songs. I like very, very, very few jazz/blues songs. In fact, I only like one jazz song. I don't like country at all. I used to like one rap song. Why do people keep producing crappy music? STOP IT!
I didn't "grow up" with any kind of music. My dad never let us buy CD's, and we never found any interest in listening to the radio. TV? TV sucks and bores the hell out of me; to hell with MTV. Only in recent years have I formed opinions about music, what with the advent of Audiogalaxy, Napster, KaZaA, and all that jive. I didn't let music shape me. People who grew up in different eras tend to like the music of that era and will likely forever hold the attitudes present in those times for the rest of their life. My uncle is a CS major, successful, been through a lot in life, but he still seems to live in the 70's, which is the time period in which he grew up in. I grew up in the 90's mostly (yes, I'm a young whippersnapper), born in the 80's but too damn young to care about stuff in the 80's, and as such you'd think that I'd be into the crap from the 90's. Well, I'm not. Umm... why the hell am I still ranting? I'll shut up now.
