my formative years were in the 1980's, but my favourite style of music and entertainment (and some of the biggest impact on my life) in general is 1920-mid 1950's (basically until the first roots of "rock and roll" emerged).
Not a huge fan of the beatles but I have a copy of the 1 CD from 2000 and it is quite decent overall - still strongly prefer Sinatra, Crosby, Cantor, Glenn Miller, Goodman, etc though.
