Ok, if the Beatles were indeed the REAL, FIRST "rock and roll guys", and pioneered rock as a genre in an otherwise musical wasteland of classical and country, etc., and I don't deny that they were, then it'd be REALLY FUCKING HARD for ANY "rock and roll" guy or group from around that era to NOT cite them as an influence, if not THE influence- and this does nothing to disprove the fact that they are thoroughly mediocre at best. As it's your opinion, I respect you standing your ground- but the theory itself is as thin, loose, and tired as an old whore.
Also, liking a few of their MANY MANY MANY songs (i'm to understand they have made what i'd refer to as a 'shitload' of music) is nothing. There are tons of bands I generally dislike but a song or two sticks out anyway. Are you trying to suggest to me that if i hate a band or group, i cannot like ANY of their songs- that I must hate EVERY note of music they're responsible for? That's a very questionable proposition.

Okay I never said they were the first rock & roll band. They obviously weren't they were early through mid 60's you think Rock wasn't around before then? Please....there were other bands around at the same time as them ever hear of The Rolling Stones? Your logic in this argument is half assed at best I know you can come up with something better. They still influence musicians to this very day when there a hundreds, thousands, millions...or rock & roll bands around so there goes that argument. And you obviously didn't read what I said and just dismissed it half way cause I told you a lot of their songs were VERY similar to "Hey Jude" And a lot of todays music sounds a lot like their later releases. You don't like their first releases right? Like the "I wanna hold your hand" and "She loves you" n stuff like that right? I don't care much for it either cause it's a bit poppy and not really my taste but I really love some of their later works. It sounds a lot like some of todays music too. Like Coldplay....Travis, etc. so is it the earlier music you hate, the later, music, or both? Cause I mean if it's just the earlier stuff you could say you hate their first few albums.
Asta!!
