One Death gives another Life

We just watched the movie Final Destination last night. I enjoyed the movie and so did the rest of us. Made us think a bit. Specially made me start thinking about what was said in the movie. I don't quite got the quote right but it's to the effect of "when one person dies it gives another person life". Made me think of hubby when he had a severe accident and was in a coma. There was another individual who came in only a day later with a VERY similar injury. On the 3rd day that my hubby was in the coma the other person with the same injury died. It was in the same hour that the Dr's came to us to tell us that my hubby had started to respond and was coming out of the coma. It was that same day that we saw enough improvement to know that he was going to come out completely. At the time we didn't know if he'd be handicapped in any way. It was strange that the other man died just as my hubby began to recover. How True do you think this statement may be? Any experiences out there where you saw one person saved while another died even when not directly related like a person risking their life to save another? I just wondered how common this type of thing really is.
