It's big out here on the Coast. Believe it or not, it was originally instituted through synagogues as a way of matching up nice Jewish boys with nice Jewish girls; everybody was too busy having a career to find other marriageable Jews, and the synagogues began to worry about the next generation.
I have not done it (married), but I have a friend who went through it. He got a couple of calls out of it, and one turned into something that lasted for a while.
My advice: don't worry about strategy, just mark the ones you'd honestly like to spend time with, and let the chips fall where they may.
