Here's the deal. The film of gasoline is super thin, on the order of a couple wavelengths of light. When it's thickness is a multiple of a particular wavelength, you see that color (from a particular angle). Since the thickness of the film varies slightly, you will see several colors. Also, the angle at which you view the film matters. This was the short short version.
