I've been stung a few times by bees, the small kind, bumble bees, red wasps, and yellowjackets.
Living in Texas, it's like a prerequisite.
In biology class we were supposed to collect bugs for a project and one of them was a wasp.
I managed to catch one in a little butterfly net and I thought I had it secured. I tried to transfer it to a jar to euthenize it and the net wasn't cooperating (stupid net)
, anyway, I, stupidly, tried to pick it up with my fingers (don't do this at home, kiddies) and right when I grabbed it, it shifted and I grabbed it by it's thorax, or whatever it's called, and by the time I let go it had stung me four or five times. I had to shake it off 'cause the little bugger had grabbed
me. (talk about karma)
