Goodbye Pork Pie - early 80's filmed in New Zealand. As best I can recall, very funny.
Slacker - the day in the life thing filmed in Austin with no plot or continuing story; just interesting/weird characters.
Total agreement with Walkabout and Midnight Run. Either The Sundance Channel or IFC showed two versions of Walkabout a few months ago. The second version had running commentary by the filmmaker about making it.
