I hear ya. I'm 6'2" and it's only happened once so far - I was with someone for about a year who is 6'3" and she loves to dress up and wear heels. It was the first time in my life I've ever hugged "up" and it felt a little funny... for about two weeks. Then, I forgot about it. Besides, she has great legs and looks hot with heels on; who am I to muck with such things?
Added bonus: for once in my life, I got to experience the joy of someone else's feet touching mine under the covers - SO much niver to cuddle with someone close to your own size.
Luckily, the woman I'm with now is also 6' so most of the benefits are there as well.
As for the whole heel thing - I think they look great. There's just something aesthetic about the look that pushes my buttons. But! If they make her too uncomfortable, so be it. It's certainly not a deal-breaker.
