I dunno, I gotta agree that all couples set the bar where they want to. And if you haven't talked about it, you may be in for a nasty suprise.
One person said that if you don't do it in front of you SO, it's cheating. But does that mean popping a zit is cheating? Okay, maybe that's an extreme example, but I always think that people who don't have any private life at all when they're with somebody else are kind of sad. That doesn't mean I'm in favor of banging strangers when you're in a relationship, I just think that if my wife wants to wank with some total stranger on the net, that's her thing.
Put it this way, if your SO cybers with somebody, and pretends to be the opposite sex, are they cheating?
