"Tree"
(about two years old now)
Drowning me in the stormy tide,
Are these raging seas of life.
Tossing, turning, side to side,
Day and night, day and night.
Delivered upon a sandy shore,
To sail the seas no more,
I see at once a lonely tree,
Proudly waving over me.
From out the leaves comes it's will
To keep me safe, to keep me still.
How can I but love the tree,
Who keeps the rain off of me...
Who saves me from the endless sea...
Who faces sunrise, beautifully?
Every day as the world turns,
And the seas ravage the shore,
I am content with my lovely tree,
And I'll never need much more.
