This reminds me of a statement my mom made once when I said her argument switched topics every sentence with no connection: "Men and women think differently. Men think logically. Women don't. We just say whatever we think of first. Its not bad, just different." I didn't know how to react to that one.
I think the statement that they get things right thinking like that is more along the lines of saying so many things that some of it has to be right. You just forget everything else.
