A few points, at least:
- No new wars (future course in Libya notwithstanding)
- Fundamentally against the Bush tax cuts, at least for high income taxpayers
- Much of new spending is in response to disaster, rather than creating it
- Compared to Bush's ideas on deficit reduction, Obama's ideas make more sense
