I completely agree. No one wants adventure, just spawns and loot. I've been spoiled by pen & paper RPGs, classic computer RPGs, and novels.
Sometimes I hate having an imagination.
I've heard that about EQ before. I hope future games play up those elements.
Imagine what would happen if WoW had most of its teleportation vapourized? Most players would have a conniption fit. Imagine having to travel without so much magic flying around? Oh ma gawd! Of course, WoW isn't about adventuring when you're maxed out.
It wasn't that long ago that they didn't even have the random dungeon finder. That was the jumping of the shark with regard to the realities of actually being in a world, fantasy or not.
