I currently have my lobes guaged at 6 and my nipples are pierced. In the past I have had a vertical labret and a conch as well. Now that I'm back in school I have been itching to get more piercings and I probably will start this summer if all goes well. Plans are two more holes in my lobes, a new vertical labret, septum or medusa and microdermals (probably six total).
I think I look pretty damn good with metal in my face personally and I like piercings because they aren't as permanent as tattoos. To answer some of your other questions, I do not play sports that I have to take my jewelry out for but if I get the microdermals they will probably get taped for certain situations. That said, I tried taking my labret out for work and the hole closed up so fast that it just didn't work. Any oral piercing will be the same way. I used to work in a motorcycle shop and they didn't care about piercings or tattoos but after that I had to take the labret to find a real job. Since then I've gone back to school and the piercing thing doesn't seem to be a big deal in academics here. Maybe someone can tell me how academics are with this in other areas since I plan to stay in this world for a while? My hope is that one day my expertise will make it easier to overlook my piercings and tattoos...
I'm also considering adding to my tattoo collection. We'll see if I ever get a real job again after all this!
