I have. Unfortunately, I haven't taken any of those tests, so I have to take the mensa one.

If you did okay on the ACTs, you'll be fine.
A lot of it is paying attention to the instructions.
S read them wrong on one section, chose the answers from the wrong line ("For question 1 select your answers from line N, for question 2 select your answers from line B, etc") and blew the test, because he did better than me on the entire rest of the test.
And comprehension... they play you a tape you have to recall later.
It's really not as hard as the online IQ tests and those silly things.

Thanks, this is helpful. Unfortunately, I haven't taken the ACT, so I'm not sure how I would do. I didn't graduate high school (although I did get an honors GED), so I haven't taken the SAT or ACT. I was consistently in the 99th and 98th percentile in my elementary and middle school testing, though, so I'm hopeful that not much has changed, and that brushing up on my math and vocab stuff will be enough to polish my proficiency.

The way I figured it, if the practice test is a good indicator for how well I will do on the actual test, it was worth the $20 to potentially save me the $40 later (if, for instance, I scored less than 80th percentile on the practice test, I wouldn't even bother with the real one). I am comfortable enough with my practice test score to go on and try the real one, though--just not completely confident enough to take a gamble like that without doing a bit of preparation. Not because of the cost, but because I can only take the real test once.
