She could have stopped and let you past, make a joke about it or just be friendly.
It does go both ways, I'm fat and if I found myself in that situation, which is very possible and I believe has happened that is what I would do if possible.
I'm just saying and trying to give perspective that it was made awkward by both your actions not just yours and I commend you for asking about it.
