Consistent weighing techniques

I'm watching my weight to see how much I lose/gain from my new workout habits. I'm pretty new to this arena, so I have what I think may be a vital question:

How do you consistently weight yourself?

What I mean is that, for example, you could be retaining water or something, so you weight will come out a bit heavy as opposed to when you weighed yourself without the water retention. Or perhaps your intestines contain 3 pounds worth of shit.

How do you get consistency?

**Remember that I'm not looking for accuracy. Consistency is far more important to me, I just want to observe changes.
