A watch is a timepiece AND personal adornment. If this one fulfils both functions, and if you have the money in your budget, go for it.
I have for daily wear a Fossil Arkitect self winding watch - it cost me £25 in an end of line sale, and i wear it on most occasions, but I also have a Raymond Wiell dress watch that cost hundreds of pounds 20 years ago.
I'd be equally happy to wear either to work or to a dressy event.

Overhead, the Albatross hangs motionless upon the air,
And deep beneath the rolling waves,
In labyrinths of Coral Caves,
The Echo of a distant time
Comes willowing across the sand;
And everthing is Green and Submarine
