I like a book for something like that.
The one I used was "Web Publishing with HTML and CSS" by Laura Lemay and Rafe Colbure from Sams publishing. Another necessary study is "PHP, MySQL, and Apache from Julie C. Meloni from the Sams teach yourself series.
However once you get going with a project like this, you will want more information.
