In the last YEAR in the UK there were less than 40 murders in total that were firearm related. (According to the BBC earlier today).
That's less than one a week in a country of over 60 million.
As far as I can see from the published data (see
Gun violence in the United States - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia) in 2004 there were about 8,000 handgun homicides, and 2,000 other gun homicides.
Shame gun control doesn't work, eh?
