It's funny you should mention that, because while I was writing my previous post I was thinking about the plurality of art that was created in the earliest days following the development of major religions - not just Christianity, but Buddhism, Hinduism, Taoism, Islam, etc. Much of the art created during those times was attributed to a confluence with the nature of God (or its corresponding entity or non-entity, depending on which religion we are talking about). Even though I am not a religious person, this perspective on art aligns much more closely with my own than one that emphasizes the individual.
