I found THE reason to justify purchasing a PS3 (as I already have a Bluray player):

Pain (the game)

Available for download for pennies (well a few bucks) from the PS3 store. Hugely addictive, and not a boring old FPS (how many ways can the same objective be packaged any ways? - I got bored of Bioshock on the PC after about a week of working through it. Same with Fallout3).

But Pain? Now that's just plain fun.
