I personally think that Aronofsky, Scorsese (until recently) and Hitchcock all produced greatness every single time. Aronofsky's directing style is the most interesting out of that pool of directors. Everyone else produces too much of the same thing, and only sometimes it turns out good.
Tarantino is an interesting character, his movies aren't that great, but they have a lot of soul in them, and he crafts absurd comedy into all of them.
