Incredibly easy beef stroganoff (crockpot)
Every once in a while I add some of my favorites here. Since I'll be making this over the weekend for my wife's family, I thought I'd remind myself of this one and also share it with you good folks.
1 to 1 1/2 lb cubed beefsteak (you can use stew meat or higher grades)
1 can beef broth
1 package sliced mushrooms
1 medium/large onion diced
Lawry's seasoning salt to taste (typically crock pots require more)
Pepper to taste
2 cloves garlic, minced
Simmer on low for 8 hours, stirring occassionally.
Drain juice if desired (I usually do since I don't like this meal overly runny)
Add 2 containers of Chive & Onion Cream Cheese, mix well
Serve over egg noodles.
The prep time is about 10 minutes and you'll need another 20 minutes at the end to boil the noodles and mix in the cream cheese. Serves 4-6.
I've made this every year for my wife's family for the past 6 or 7 years. It's not a traditional stroganoff recipe (no pickles!), but it's quite good and very easy.
