I was bored out of my skull.
Yes I read/liked the book as a small child. But any nostalgia factor was completely satiated by the previews alone, because the full movie didn't bring anything extra to the table.
And instead of a boy with an over-active imagination, max came off as an uber-needy little pussy.
Oh well, yet another flic that I totally disagree with the general consensus on.
