Whenever I've taken pictures of myself they've been for an SO, usually distant. Don't really think I'd want to see myself doing that. Even when an SO and I have filmed ourselves I really only want to watch the parts with her in them.
If you found it in a generally accessible place then I would ask him. If he accidentally left something logged in that you wouldn't normally see then I'd be a bit more circumspect.
