DHCP Servers, NT, Linksys, DSL Linksys Router... HELP!
Hey guys.. I know I don't have that many posts but i'm trying to set something up at work and its going to be my ass if I don't set this up.. Just seeing if anyone here has any suggestions or pointers.. thanks.. on to the specs:
I have an 8 port HP Switch, with 5 users in the office connected to the server for email, file sharing etc...
We just got Verizon DSL, and Linksys Broadband Router/8 port switch.
I have to take out all of the connections to the HP switch, and plug them into the Linksys Router.. (I configured the router to work with the dsl, used one machine just hooked it up.. it was easy)..
Basically, how do I get the server to still act as a server, and the users to still be able to access their inter-office email, scheduling, and files?? WHILE having the Linksys router manage it all / distribute DSL, instead of the HP switch just managing it?
Overview:
HP Switch
NT Server
5 Users
needs to turn into
DSL
Linksys Router
NT Server
5 useres
I looked up some info.. I think its just a matter of DHCP settings.. disabling the DHCP on the Linksys router and then setting it up as a gateway on the NT Server's DHCP settings?
Does any of this sound familiar ?
Thank you in advance guys/girls!!!
