The XD VS XDM
From my research there are only four changes that were made from the XD to the XDM. Number one being the slide release. Number two the angle of the grip. Number three the grip pattern it's self. Number four being the magazine capacity. The main reason that I'm even looking at the polymer frame pistol is because it's able to chamber the .45acp, +P, +P+. The .45 acp only comes in the XD modle not the XDM modle. The company is tight lip about the release of the XDM .45 acp as I have had no responce from my e-mails to SpringField Armory about it. I know that if I buy the gun I will have to do a few modifications out of the box. I think that anyone looking to buy the XD or XDM or those that already own them should know about these things. Frist you should have a trigger job done replacing the factory parts with springer precision trigger parts. Second modify the grip. Just doing those two things should give you a better and tighter groping. As for the sights your on your own because there are to many to list. On a personal note I like what they did with the slide release as it makes disassembly and reassembly that much quicker so that you can get back on target. My x girlfriend has the XD .40cal S&W Semper Fidelis , my friend has the new XDm .40cal S&W and they both like their guns. I myself am old school and have a Kimber TLE/RL II Tactical
.45 acp. However I am looking at purchasing an XD or an XDm .45acp if they ever release it. My question is does anyone know if they are going to release the XDm .45 acp soon or at all?
