Hello. It's been quite some time since i've posted on these boards.
Anyway, I recently took a trip out west with a few friends and here's a small sample of what I came back with:
(All taken with a D300, Tamron 17-50mm f2.8, Sigma 10-20mm f4-5.6)
1. Driving into Yellowstone.
2. Same, but with a river this time.
3. I forget the name of these falls but they were also in Yellowstone. I think it may have been Angel lookout or something.
4. Old Faithful putting on a show.
5. Hiking in Utah. Deadly switchbacks.
6. The Tetons.
7. Same. Few minutes later. We basically got to watch a storm form, lighting hit the mountains, hail cover them, and then it the storm just disappeared. Pretty cool.
8. Moonset over the Tetons. Taken at about 11:30 PM. I had recently bought a really nice Manfrotto tripod but somehow it was left behind in the rush to leave. I ended up having to buy a crappy 18 dollar tripod at K-mart. It couldn't support the weight of my camera so I had to get creative with stabilizing it.
9. The Milkyway.
10. Death Canyon.
11. Runoff stream. Still plenty of snow on these mountains.
12. The Canyon.
13. One last time.
