I love storms, they are so exhilarating.
When I lived in SLC for a couple years, I saw the most amazing thing. In 1999 a tornado materialized downtown, and went up the hill on the side of the state capitol building. I lived behind it on the other side.
I was waiting for my mom, who was visiting from out of town, to come by. We were supposed to go on a picnic in Memory Grove, in the ravine on the other side of the capitol. She was late, so I went outside to see very dark clouds. As soon as she showed up there was a lot of lightning and thunder all around and things were floating in the air, I had never seen that before. The wind was blowing like crazy and it was very loud. I looked to my right and saw a cloud swirl and descend, I knew it was a tornado. My mom yelled at me to get into the basement, but I walked further outside to see this amazing thing.
We later found out the tornado went though Memory Grove, right were we should have been if my mom had not been late. It was only an F2, but it ripped up quite a few trees, and did some damage downtown.
