We see the film festivals that get lots of press like the Tribeca Film Festival, Cannes Film Festival, Sundance, etc.
I live near three independent movie theaters.
IFC Center,
Film Forum, and
Sunshine Cinema,
Tribeca Film Center.
One of my first dates with Skogafoss was going to see the Hitchcock film Psycho. We both like movies and thought it was going to be a fun thing to go catch during the Hitchcock film festival at Film Forum. Last October, IFC did a whole original horror series every Friday night over the course of 2 months ending on Halloween, it was an amazing list of movies.
So, here's the challenge. Make your own Film Festival. It's got to be more than 2-3 films since that's just a double feature or a trilogy.
State the time of the year you'd like to screen and schedule if any, and the films you'd like to screen. You can have a theme, no theme, central actor, director, production house, whatever. Explain a little bit of why you are picking this, meaning what connects all the movies, or if nothing connects them.
After you've posted your first, come back to read comments, and post another set of movies.
