I am taking exactly the same kind of trip you are, and chose Vancouver - already booked my flight, Hotel, rental car. I'll be there Sept 17-23. So if you're in the city in that date range, this might be interesting!
I picked Vancouver partially because there's family in Seattle. I've done the fly into Sea-tac and drive into Vancouver bit and happened to hit a blizzard on that trip. lesson learned, so I booked a ticket straight into Vancouver for this trip.
