If this is conscious sedation (instead of a total knock out) you can always request more medication. If the procedure starts and you're feeling unpleasant or actually feeling pain, tell the doctor. There's no shame telling the doc s/he didn't get the dosage right and that the scope is feeling a bit prickly.
