Craig Ferguson: You stopped being funny after Drew Carey's show ended. Katy Perry: I think you're terrible and your song is only popular because you're mildly attractive and everyone is entertained by your hit single being openly bi curious. Then you start talking or singing and your attractiveness goes away. I don't really get the Chiquita lady theme either. Who cares.

Estelle ft. Kanye West: Nice jacket. Pretty soon you'll be thinking you're bigger than Michael Jackson. Your hair is kinda 80's too. This is a shame, because I actually dig this song, "American Boy", it's very catchy, just not live like this. They proceed to introduce Best New Artist, which goes to Adele. Haven't really heard of you at all, but you could have at least done your hair for an awards show.

Ha. I think suffering is probably the best description of this show so far, with small exceptions.

Morgan Freeman was wearing one glove introducing Kenny Chesney. Why is everyone throwing back to MJ? Kenny Chesney is pretty good. I don't listen to that much country, but this is a nice performance. Robert Plant and Alison Krauss win again, and Plant says the same thing as last time basically.

Queen Latifa: Presenting Dean Martin with the Lifetime Achievement Award. Haha, the Rat Pack vs the Rap Pack. Yeah sure.
MIA performing pregnant. Kanye, TI, Lil Wayne and Jay-Z... Putting the screen in black and white huh. "Swagga Like Us" is the song. Okay, I'll bite on this comparison to the Rat pack but only under the condition that I do a little compare and contrast. So who would be who? Jay would have to be Frank, and I think that T.I. is trying to do a little Dean-o. Kanye would have to be Sammy Davis Jr. and who knows who the hell Lil Wayne is, he didn't even dress up in a tux like the rest of them. Okay so thank god that's over, because as much as I appreciate hip hop, that wasn't very good. Especially with MIA due TODAY and walking around doing pelvic thrusts on stage.

Kate Beckinsale introducing Paul McCartney and Dave Grohl: Dave is playing drums for Sir Paul on "I Saw Her Standing There". This is alright, I'm not the biggest fan of Dave Grohl on drums, and a lot of Nirvana fans hate me for that but I don't care. I love his role in Foo Fighters with Taylor Hawkins playing set.

Jack Black and Charlie Hayden: honor Hank Jones with a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award
Best Male Pop Vocal: John Mayer, Kid Rock, Paul McCarney, Jason Mraz, Ne-Yo, James Taylor..... John Mayer for "Say" from the movie "The Bucket List". Love JM, as CBS blacks out in the middle of the program.

Sugarland and Adele: Man, I'm starting to think this is the CMA's because there is a TON of country music in this show. Strong vocal performance though, sure beats the living hell out of Katy Perry. Adele is on with a string section. This is my first listen of her and pretty good. One of the better compilations of the night.

Radiohead + USC Marching Band: Alright, so, being a part of some very serious marching percussion sections myself, I'm not a big fan of USC, I think they're grossly overrated, but I've got to say that they played pretty tastefully and really enchanced the excellence that is Radiohead. This was a pretty good display of what they can good, and I think it was good of Radiohead to incorporate them.

Justin Timberlake and TI: Gotta love it when Samuel L. Jackson yells about things. CBS loses sound in the middle of the performance. I hate CBS. This song is one of the better rap performances of the evening so far. Enhanced by Justin playing piano and a string section, and the band is playing well. T.I. isn't overbearing in a live setting. Ha a little bucket drumming section, I'll bite. This song is pretty good, good lyrics, good performance. Justin liked it.

Hmm, I didn't know that Obama won a Grammy prior to this show. Supposedly for the recording work done for his books. Smokey Robinson tries to recreate the Four Tops with himself Ne-Yo and Jamie Foxx. "Reach Out I'll Be There". This was better than I expected. "I Can't Help Myself (Sugar Pie Honey Bunch)". This went pretty well. I respect the vocal ability of Ne-Yo. The band played well again, which really can make or break the performance, as some groups have been pretty off earlier in the show.

Neil Diamond: "Sweet Caroline", oh please. You know what, I live in Mass, and I am a huge baseball fan and an even bigger Red Sox fan, so I buy Sweet Caroline, and repeating it and all that jazz inbetween innings, but Neil Diamond just successfully turned the Grammy Awards into a cross between a 7th inning stretch and he was the lounge singer for a VERY large lounge. This didn't really work at all Neil, and neither did your sparkly jacket. Also, the guy who composed the Adam West Batman theme died as well as the guy who did the Andy Griffith theme song.

Blues Jam with Keith Urban, John Mayer, and BB King in honor of Bo Diddley. This left a little to be desired. The four of them were out of balance with each other, they were kind of at different levels with their volume and tone which didn't quite mix well.

Lil Wayne and Robin Thicke: I really like Robin Thicke, but they should stop having the same people perform over and over again. Lil Wayne is doing alright but, at this point im getting pretty bored. Nice little Dirty Dozen Brass Band putting down a New Orleans feel.

Best Rap Album: Lupe Fiasco, Jay Z, Nas, T.I., Lil Wayne: .... Lil Wayne, Tha Carter III. I don't know man, I probably would have picked every one of the other nominees before him. Also T-Pain looked like a douche presenting. Also he over promoted himself in a joke and it wasn't funny. I hate the narcissism in this show.

Robert Plant and Alison Krauss: Interesting drum set. I really like their band, they've got a great guitar sound and the drum sound is definately something new, plus Robert Plant's voice goes really well with the sound they have (I would hope so, after all, Led is like the greatest band... ever.) I can't see what kind of equipment the guitar player is using but it looks pretty rustic, giving it that genuine sound. That was a very good performance, and I'm probably going to go pick up that album.

Album of the Year: Coldplay Viva La Vida, Lil Wayne Tha Carter III, Ne-Yo Year of the Gentleman, Robert Plant and Alison Krauss Raising Sand, Radiohead In Rainbows... Robert Plant and Alison Krauss! Hmm, I don't think that's what the crowd wanted, they didn't receive it as well as I would have expected for album of the year. Robert Plant is a crazy dude, and they're playing him off stage! haha. They're totally not getting it that they're getting played off.

Stevie Wonder: Back for the closing act, thank god without the Jonas Brothers.

So I learned that Chris Brown and Rihanna were both supposed to perform and did not go to the show. Brown was arrested (he turned himself in) for the assault of some woman at a nightclub or something like that. Rihanna was supposed to perform Live Your Life and Disturbia, and Brown was supposed to perform Forever. That could account for some of the repetitions with artists maybe??
