The whole point is that the cop doesn't need to know that I have a gun unless he is going to search me. It does not provide him with any added safety (speaking statistically because I'm statistically less likely to use a gun on an officer than the average non CCWP citizen). Therefore, it only serves to unsettle the cop and make him more likely to shoot me being that he knows I may have a gun. My point is that you should not be required to tell him about your gun, and it should not show up in the traffic database. I have no problem with it showing up if he specifically searches for it to make certain that my ccwp is valid.
