OK. I have a couple of concerns and comments.
Fly ... I'm hearing only kick drum on your part. Is that correct? Or did you intend to upload other tracks for snare, toms and overheads?
Grumpyolddude ... There's a little distortion on your part that sounds unintentional. Can you back down the gain just a little bit ... if possible? Also, we're going to need that click at the beginning. It's going to be rough lining up the parts without that. You might want to wait for the FINAL drum take from Fly before doing anything.
ratbastid ... same thing. That click at the beginning is pretty vital to getting everything lined up.
This all goes back to the fact that everybody's computer has a different clock and even though each take might start at the beginning the timing is likely to be slightly off.
Unless everyone wants to study up on Broadcast .wavs (
Broadcast Wave Format - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia) I think we're all going to have to include the click for each track. I think the LATEST version of Audacity supports BWAVES. Sonar (what I use for recording and mixing) supports them.
One last thing (I know it sounds like it's getting pedantic): save your final tracks as wavs and THEN re-save them as MP3s; that way you will already have the wav file in place to upload if it turns out to be a keeper.
Once we have a workflow for these projects they will get easier in the future. I promise.
