I'm not 100% certain, though I believe it's classified as a civic law. I'm not sure if the Jews still practice it, though. I'm sure someone who is Jewish can weigh in.
And, this is off-topic, but I'd like to know what you think about
this. How long do you think it'll be until a gay couple tries to sue a church for refusing to marry them?
