Fortunately my family is aware that some gifts don't fit or not wanted. They almost always leave the tags on or at least just clip the actual price off and leave the bar code. If I wanted a cash refund I could get it. I have one blouse that I got that didn't fit. The number size is mine but I'm guessing it was bought in the juniors section because it fits as though it was made for my 8 yr old daughter and not an adult. That will probably be exchanged for a clothing item in my size.
Everything else was what I wanted. I got a springform cake pan that didn't work so well with my cheesecake recipe but I will have to try it with another bakery and see how it works. Otherwise it will just sit with my other unusual baking pans until I'm in the mood to experiment.
As for IF I had gotten something I didn't want and couldn't return it to the store, I might consider if anyone else I know would apprecient such a gift and if it would get back to the gifter if I regifted it. If there's no solution by that route I may donate it to St Vincents in town and save the donation reciept for taxes.
