I drive a 2008 1.3 Mazda2. (petrol). I get 14 - 17 km/L depending on how I drive.
Before that I drove a 2004 Ford Bantam 1.3 pickup (payload 700kg).

Yeah, here in America we power our lawn mowers with 1.3L engines, not cars. Mazda2 is so economical, it's not even sold in the US because not many people would buy it with those power specs. Even econo cars aim for at least 100 horses.
