If the FIA has its way with this single manufacturer engine push, I think 2009 will be the swan song for Formula 1. Manufacturer and technology diversity was just as much a part of the allure of F1 as is driver diversity. By constantly whittling down what manufacturers can and can't do in the name of cost savings, F1 is slowly turning into a spec racing league.
One can only hope that Mosley and Ecclestone can be swayed from tinkering with one of the great pillars that makes Formula 1 the sport that it is.
