Right. Which we are not even sure we will do. Believe me, if getting my Icelandic passport had required 3.5 years of residence in Iceland (or god forbid, 7 if you're not married to an Icelander!), there is no way in hell that I would have lived here that long. I only got the passport because it was relatively convenient... I was here for 9 months and got it through my father's citizenship.
