What risks are associated with kissing?

I am admittedly someone that is very healthy and concerned about my well being, and that made me wonder about what long term health risks there are from kissing someone? For the sake of this post, let's assume it's open mouth with a partner, perhaps some tongue action.

Aside from passing a cold/flu or other, more temporary, illness on to a partner, what is the risk of getting a longer term malady from a partner, and how likely is it?

As an example, I gather Hepatitis B can be passed on through the transmission of saliva. I'd be interested in learning more about that, as well as other maladies that aren't sexually transmitted, but perhaps worthy of concern when kissing another.
