I think the mandatory evacuations show that they might have learned a little, but it should have been instated sooner.
The news images showed the typical locked traffic yesterday.
I can't imagine the fear in a parent being stuck on an interstate knowing that the storm is coming and you might still be sitting there when it does.
A few years ago, when they evacuated Jacksonville, they waited too long to suggest getting heck out and hundreds of people spent the duration of the storm stuck on I-10 with no gas because the traffic was so locked up... even with the traffic all reversed towards Tallahassee.
